It's apropos that petroleum is a black sludge from underground. It's Tolkienesque.

Why has diesel and jet-fuel (which also follows the logic you explain) flatlined in the past 10 years but the stock market continues to go up and there is no change in behavior with the top 20% wealthy of the world? You seem to imply the stock market will eventually crash and there will be mass layoffs.

Why hasn't it happened now? Or 5 years ago? Why might it not happen for another 20 years? Although I don't think things will stay the same that long, I didn't see it lasting another 7 years in 2018 when I lectured my daughter and husband ;)

What I didn't see is that the wealthy subtly direct the burning of diesel and jet-fuel. There are two economies. Because of digital entertainment and cheap calories (if poor quality food) most people don't complain.

So I see things differently than you. A crashing stock market and mass firings won't be enough to "fix" the situation. The top 20% must cull the herd. Stuff no one really wants to articulate but is happening already. Based on your research, the future is terrifying indeed.
